Gordon Kennedy

Individuals and their families, and small businesses and their owners have turned to Gordon Kennedy as their trusted advisor for over thirty years.  Clients rely on Gordon for his practical and results-oriented tax planning and reporting.  Gordon’s background and experience in accounting, auditing, and tax enables him to help clients with financial planning, creative business solutions, and guidance on a wide range of sophisticated transactions and complex tax and regulatory issues.  Gordon regularly provides individual and corporate tax and accounting advice, estate and gift tax planning and reporting, and business planning and decision-making consultations.  Gordon has represented clients on IRS and Massachusetts DOR audits and has also appeared as an expert witness in Massachusetts Superior Courts in cases involving forensic accounting.  Clients appreciate Gordon’s helpful and friendly approach and his ability to explain complex tax laws and how they apply, even in the most difficult situations.

Gordon began his career in public accounting at Price Waterhouse, LLP in Boston before starting his own practice over 30 years ago.  Gordon holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University and is an active member of a variety of local organizations, including being a past president of the Marshfield Rotary Club.  Gordon is the proud grandfather of three young boys who keep him and his wife, Claire, on their toes and provide him with lots of humorous stories.

 

Rick Devlin

We are happy to welcome Rick Devlin back for another tax season. He adds many years of tax experience to our office. A tax professional for more than 30 years, Rick has worked in the corporate tax environment and as a self-employed tax preparer for various individual and small business clients, as well as working with CPA firms on the south shore.

As a corporate tax compliance manager for Reed Elsevier, an international publishing company in Newton, Rick was responsible for preparing complex federal and state tax returns as well as representing the corporation in various IRS and state audit issues. Rick has also provided individual and small business clients with tax and payroll preparation, audit representation and financial planning. Rick is a Northeastern University graduate, an IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer and is also a Notary Public.

Rick lives in Marshfield with his wife Kathy. They have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren who keep them busy -- but there is always time for long walks on the beach.
